After Congress targeted the government for the attack on Rahul Gandhi’s car, the government hit back by revealing a slew of facts about Rahul Gandhi. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that Rahul Gandhi has broken security protocols on several occasions, around 100 times in two years. When Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that BJP was using violence, Rajnath Singh responded by saying that it was Rahul Gandhi’s mistake to not travel in a bullet proof car. Singh also said that Rahul has continuously refused to take Special Protection Group cover during his foreign trips. Rajnath said that Rahul went on 6 foreign trips for 72 days and every time he refused to take the SPG cover.
Rajnath asked why Gandhi was not taking SPG cover during his foreign trips. “We want to know why didn’t Rahul Gandhi take SPG cover on several foreign trips? What is he trying to hide? In the last two years, Gandhi has been out on six foreign visits for 72 days. He has not kept the SPG cover in these 72 days,” Singh said. Singh said that not taking SPG cover was a violation of the SPG Act and it is also an irresponsible behavior. Rajnath further said that Gandhi took 121 trips in the last 2 years, and during this time he committed 100 security protocol violations by refusing to use bullet-proof car.
