The Kannada film Allamas’ team has been awarded with two awards at 64th National Film Awards.
Flautist Bapu Padmanabha, who made his Sandalwood debut as music director with the film, won the award for his compositions.
I am very greatful to director Nagabharna for allowing me complete creative freedom in my first project as composer. Our collaboration happened over 3 years, even before he began shooting the film and continued over its making. He keeps on explaining the visuals for each scene and we would plan the background songs accordingly”. said Bapu.
He also stated that “Allama is one of my favorite subjects and it gave me immense pleasure to work on this film”.
The only brief he got from the film maker was to ensure that the vachanas were not drowned out by the music, as they are very lyrical which was a challenging proposition.
MK Ramakrishnan, has been awarded for the best makeup for Allama of his over four decaded in the film industry. “This is my first award at the National level and it gives me happiness that it was with a subject like this he stated.
