90 days Paid Leave to women under PPR act 2013, Sanitary Napkins to be tax free

The Department of Personnel and Training has recently changed service rules Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013, as per the rules amendment in special case leave up 90 days may be allowed to distressed woman government servant during the due probe under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace. The granted leave to distressed woman employee will not be deducted from leave account. These leaves will be extra to those which are given already to the central government employees.

In other news, Congress Member of Parliament Sushmita Dev has advised Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to make sanitary napkins tax free under the GST tax bill. As per the petition on change.org, Sushmita Dev says putting tax on sanitary napkins is like taxing women for being women.  She said that women use napkins every month and these are necessity but not luxury.
