First came the books, then the movies and now a pub in London, dedicated exclusively to the wizardry and magical aspects of the stories of Harry Potter. The pub, which is inspired by British author JK Rowling’s popular fantasy franchise Harry Potter, is slated to be launched soon in the United Kingdom. Here, we are talking not just about the theme, but there will be some real wizardly and magic on display such as users being able to turn on beer taps using a magic wand and light floating candles. The pub, slated to be named as ‘The Cauldron’, takes its name from the ‘The Leaky Cauldron’, which is a fictitious inn as mentioned in Harry Potter books. The Leaky Cauldron is considered as a gateway to the wizardry world.
The man behind the pub is Matthew Cortland, a 28-year-old former teacher from New Jersey. He is currently working to raise $500,000 through a crowdfunding project. Cortland said that even the food menu of the pub will be as per the recipes described in fantasy texts. Fans are currently being consulted to bring about the best possibilities in fantasy inspired food to be served at the pub. Speaking about the drinks to be served at the pub, Cortland said, “We will create spectacular science-based cocktails that look and behave like potions that are described in fantasy books. Our resident mixologist will be tasked with using the magical elements in our pub to brew drinks that capture your imagination. It’s a boozy mix of mixology, science, and technology.”
