After speculations that a coup was imminent at AAP, the party has emerged as a united force. Kumar Vishwas, who was on the brink of quitting the party, has now decided against it. The change in the decision came today after Vishwas attended a meeting that had most of the top leaders of AAP. After the meeting, Vishwas said that his grievances have been addressed and he will not be quitting the party. One of his major grievances was that no action was taken against MLA Amanatullah Khan, who had made allegation that Vishwas was hobnobbing with the BJP and RSS. This grievance has now been addressed as Khan has been suspended from the party. Vishwas also expressed his satisfaction that talks are happening now, which was another of his key demands. He thanked everyone for supporting him during the crisis.
The AAP has also given some additional responsibilities to Vishwas, one of which will be the responsibility to build the party’s cadre in Rajasthan, where the assembly elections will be held in 2018. Till now, Vishwas was only handling the responsibility of overseas funding. Sisodia said that other responsibilities may also be given to Vishwas in the near future. It may be recalled that Vishwas had yesterday complained about Kejriwal and Sisodia in the media and had said that he might take a major decision.
