A day after AAP Minister Kapil Mishra was sacked, he has now hit back, saying that he had seen AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal taking cash worth Rs 2 crore from Health Minister Satyendar Jain. The accusations have triggered yet another political crisis for the Aam Aadmi Party. It is an irony that AAP had swept to power in Delhi due to its anti-corruption agenda and now its top leader is being accused of corruption. Opposition parties in Delhi turned the heat on AAP, soon after the allegations were made public. The BJP wants police action against Kejriwal whereas the Congress has demanded a CBI probe in the matter.
However, AAP has rubbished the allegations, calling it ‘absurd’. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who had announced the sacking of Mishra yesterday, said that there is no evidence and it’s just retaliation. Nonetheless, Mishra stands by his words and he has said that he is ready to record his statement with any investigative agency such as CBI or the Anti Corruption Bureau. Mishra said that APP should be able to explain where the money came from and how it was utilized. He has already met the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal this morning and has apprised him of the situation.
