The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Admi Party has released a special manifesto for the Government employees of Punjab. AAP has said that they will be implementing the 6th Pay commission and shall regularize contract employees if they are voted to power. The party will also look inot demands of pay parity that many employees demand.
After regularizing the contract employees a committee would be formed to review the minimum wage that employees receive. Salaries given to workers of Asha, aanganwadi and mid day meal scheme workers would be doubled by the Government.
The pension scheme that was stopped by the Government in 2004, will also be revived if the AAP is voted to power in the upcoming assembly elections. Women employees will also be given preference for posting and they will be posted in their home districts only. All employees will also get pensions, probation would be reduced to a year and a person would receive full salary during this period.
Government employees in Punjab form a major part of the voting block and a manifesto was launched keeping them in mind. Government employees in Punjab have faced many hardships, with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Government not paying their salaraies on time.
