MUMBAI, 13th April 2015: ACC Madukkarai was awarded the ‘India CSR Community Initiative Awards’ by India Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) group on 6th April 2015, at PHD House, New Delhi. The awards were presented to corporate entities identified with best CSR practices, based on the case studies presented by them in various categories.
The award was conferred on ACC Madukkarai Cement Works for its outstanding contribution in the Solid Waste Management initiative. The award winning case study was based on the theme of ’Clean and Green Madukkarai—A Community Public-Private Partnership aimed at creating a clean and green community’. The initiative continues to support the Panchayat in effectively implementing various aspects related to solid waste management and aims to achieve the Zero Plastic Waste status by 2017.
Mr Shyam Sunder, Plant CSR Coordinator, received the award from Mr Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General & CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.

The mission is to inspire, encourage, and facilitate CSR awareness and practices amongst corporate India.
