German leader of World War II, Adolf Hitler’s book Mein Kampf is the currently the best selling book in Germany. Mein Kampf is Adolf Hitler’s autobiography and the title basically means “My Struggle”. The German state Government had banned the republication and sale of the book, but has recently allowed a version with certain additions to be sold in the German market.
Over 85,000 copies have been sold since it was republished about a year ago. It is being published and sold by the Munich based Institute for Contemporary History, which has spent years to research and make some additions to the original book. The German state of Bavaria had the rights to the book till 2015 and had banned the publication and sale of the book for over 70 years. However, many copies of the original book can still be found in many book stores across Germany. One can easily download the orignal book from the internet and read it.
People worry that the book may be used by right wing politicians for propoganda, especially in a time where tensions are running high against the immigrants flowing in from Syria and the middle east.
