Music lovers are demanding refunds after attending music composer AR Rahman’s concert in Wembley, London.
Rahman performed the concert ‘Netru, Indru, Naalai’(Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow) at the London event on July 8.
The concert-goers walked out when he performed mostly his Tamil songs and not enough of his Hindi ones.
The angered fans, mostly North Indians, took to Twitter to express their disappointment at the Oscar-winner.
After the reported walkout, a statement was later issued on a Facebook page named ‘AR Rahman Live – UK’ on July 10 saying: “Hi London. Thanks for the tremendous support and response. However, we have been getting few complaints on language bias which is rather unfortunate as this was an Indian show and music doesn’t have any barriers.”
A R Rahman has not responded to his critics. He is currently in New York for the IIFA Awards.
