Chennai, December 10, 2014: The 2015 edition of the Aircel Chennai Open will mark two decades since the very first game of India’s premier and South Asia’s only ATP World Tour stop was played. To commemorate the tournament’s fantastic achievements, give Chennai’s tennis lovers an opportunity to celebrate their very own World Tour event and catch a glimpse of the 2015 trophy, Aircel today launched an exclusive Trophy Tour in in the event’s home city.
Kick starting on December 11, the exclusive tour will visit Chennai’s most prominent landmarks including thirty schools, twenty colleges and a leading mall around the city over a course of two-weeks. While fans young and old will get a fantastic chance to witness the premier ATP tennis symbol in their own neighbourhood and take pictures with it, the Tour will also offer people a chance to participate in exciting quiz sessions and an Aircel Fastest Serve Challenge to win loads of prizes that include tickets, wristbands and special tennis balls. The Aircel Fastest Serve Challenge will be organized at Phoenix Market City, Chennai on December 20, 21, 27 and 28.
Other initiatives to celebrate 20 years include the launch of a special logo created to mark the occasion, a renovated venue, and a host of ongoing activities across India.

The 20th edition of the Aircel Chennai Open will present an exceptional assembly of talent that includes four top-25 players and three 2014 ATP World Tour Award winners. Cutting off at 95, the strong player field for the region’s most exciting and hard fought tennis tournament will witness some of the world’s most exciting names in tennis converging in India. These include thrilling talent such as World No. 4 and Defending Singles Champion Stan Wawrinka, World No. 14 Feliciano Lopez, World No. 15 Roberto Bautista Agut, and former Champion Janko Tipsarevic, returning to competitive tennis after surgery and granted a wild card. Other leading players who will add excitement to the event include Belgium’s David Goffin, Spaniards Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Marcel Granollers, Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller, Chinese Taipei’s Yen-Hsun Lu and 2014 finalist Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
