In a major win in the fight against terrorism, security forces today killed the top terrorist who was responsible for planning and executing the attack on Amarnath pilgrims. Top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Abu Ismail was killed today by security forces. He was the architect of the attack on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. Ismail was killed today during an encounter with the security forces. He was killed in Aribagh area of Nowgam on the outskirts of Srinagar. It may be recalled that 7 pilgrims had died in the deadly attack on Amarnath pilgrims. Several others were injured as well. Those killed in the Amarnath terror attack included 6 women.
A Jammu & Kashmir police official said that LeT terrorist Abu Ismail, who belongs to Pakistan, has been killed by security forces. One of his accomplices has also been killed in the encounter. The police official said that this is a huge achievement for the police and security forces in the Kashmir Valley. Ismail’s associate who was killed in the encounter was identified as Chotta Qasim, who also belongs to Pakistan. Bodies of both terrorists have been recovered by security forces. As a precautionary measure, internet services have been suspended after the encounter. Misguided local people often protest the killing of terrorists in Kashmir Valley and they are paid cash for the same.
