Anju Bala

Anju Bala is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Misrikh in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Anju Bala defeated her nearest rival Ashok Kumar Rawat of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by a margin of more than 85 thousand votes. Throughout her life and political career, Anju Bala has made sincere efforts to improve the life of people. She believes that dishonesty is the plague of the society and it needs to be uprooted from society. She has made efforts to spread awareness about the ills that plague the society and has been working on projects that seek to eliminate poverty. She has also championed the cause of brining more transparency in the society.

Early Life and Education

Anju Bala was born on September 6, 1979 to Shri Ravinder Nath and Smt. Trishala Devi. She was born in Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir. Her educational qualifications include M.A. (Hindi and Sanskrit) and she receivededucation at University of Jammu and Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur (U.P.). She was married to Shri Krishna Kumar Singh alias Satish Verma on Jan 26, 2008.

Political Career

 

  • 2010 – 2014: President, Panchayat Samiti
  • May, 2014: Elected to 16th Lok Sabha
  • 1 Sep. 2014 onwards: Member, Standing Committee on Empowerment of Women; Member, Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers; Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation

Personal Pursuits

Anju Bala likes listening to music in her free time. She also has interest in sports and among her favorites are basketball and football. She has also been involved in a wide variety of social and cultural programs that seek to bring about positive changes in the society.
