Even before the dust could settle by the issue raised by Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaekwad, this time it was Trinamool Congress MP Dola Sen who allegedly delayed Air India’s Delhi-Kolkata flight by nearly 40 minutes after an argument over seating arrangement.
The MP had booked front row seats on MakeMyTrip and had paid extra for those seats, said Air India. They said further that owing to full booking, they could only book on emergency exit seats which has similar leg room. However Sen boarded with her wheel bound chair mother who was not allowed to sit near emergency exit seats. the airline said that they were not informed prior about the MP being accompanied by her wheel bound chair mother at the time of booking the tickets.
Following this, the TMC MP ‘shouted and screamed’ at the cabin crew, the airline claimed.
This forced the pilot to come out of the cockpit, who offered business class seats to the MP’s mother but Sen declined. On the other hand, it is to be noted that after the Govt has asked for the ban to be lifted on Ravindra Gaekwad, airlines had followed the instructions and removed his name from the banned list.
