Apple’s new patent may turn your iPhone and iPad into a MacBook. The idea is not new because HP’s Elite X3 Lap Dock uses the same idea. Unlike HP where the smartphone needs to be connected to a device which would cost around USD600, Apple would make the iPhone actin as a tracking pad.
The primary idea is to make the screen and keyboard to be a dumb terminal with iPhone doing all the work associated with it. When it comes to iPad, it would act as a display as well as the CPU. In both the cases, the devices would be running either iOS or MacOS. As the idea is still in its nascent stage, the date of availability and its pricing is not known.
