Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence said that insufficient fund for the Defence budget will influence the modernization strategies and will hollow India’s defence vigilance other than this it will also affect armed forces confidence.
Panel said that the defence budget of Rs 2.81 lakh crore for following financial is unhappily insufficient to meet even the basic supplies of the armed forces.
It is said that Army received just 60 per cent of the funds it had asked for modernization in the 2017-18 budget. Panel mentioned their concern over lack of satisfactory critical arms and scrutiny systems.
Committee said they are agreed with the Defence ministry that the minimal progress of financial distribution is not at all adequate and that Finance ministry essentially study increase in expenditure for modernisation of the facilities.
