The idea of a trendy hangout destination where people can come on a regular basis to spend some quality time having beer and enjoying tasty food, led a group of IITians to launch their first startup, Zu Tisch – a European bistro specializing in German cuisine. While evaluating various options for the perfect theme, going the German way seemed the best solution since Germany is synonymous with delectable food, beers, automobiles and sports, all of which appeal to the urban population. Also, restaurants specializing in German cuisine are few and rare in the National Capital Region, which provides foodies all the more reasons to visit Zu Tisch to try the amazing German menu and get high on popular German beers.
Food & Drinks – If you live to eat meet, it’s guaranteed you will have a great time at Zu Tisch. There’s a wide variety of bits & bites, soups, salads, schnitzel, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and oven & grill items on the menu. Non-vegetarian dishes are prepared with different types of meat such as pork, poultry, duck, goose, turkey and seafood items. There are vegetarian dishes as well, but relatively less as compared to the non-veg menu.
In German cuisine, dishes made from vegetables are usually served as side dishes, which may have asparagus, carrots, turnips, spinach, peas, beans, broccoli and cabbage. Some of the popular dishes at Zu Tisch include BBQ pork spare ribs, pork schnitzel, frikadelle mit pommes frites, wurstteller mit sauerkraut und kartoffel puree, kassler ripperl, lasagna rolls, dragon rolls, and beer batter fried fish/prawns. The restaurant organizes special events such as Friday karaoke nights and Oktoberfest. It has an exclusive food & drinks menu for Oktoberfest, applicable for the time period the festival is celebrated.
The bar menu lists a wide variety of German beers, draughts, and cocktails. Also, there are wines, whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, gin and tequila. Beers are the most popular and there’s a unique way to serve it that might interest you.
Ambience – The restaurant’s theme is a mix of old and modern and is designed in a special way that lets you experience the classic charms of a German pub. There are bare brick walls as well as the ones garbed in white with maps of Germany, vintage lanterns, various objets d’art, and a prominent, brightly lit bar. The relaxed and cozy environs provide the perfect escape, a stark contrast to the chaotic conditions of the busy market area outside.
Service – The staff is attentive to your needs and will assist you in choosing the flavors you like.
