In an interesting development on the International Yoga Day, Baba Ramdev and Amit Shah have helped create a new Guinness World Record by enabling the most number of participants during a yoga session. The record breaking yoga session was organized at the GMDC ground in Ahmedabad today at 6:45 AM. A record breaking 54,522 people participated in the yoga session. The Guinness authorities later handed a certificate to Ramdev and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, confirming the inclusion of the new record. It may be recalled that the earlier record was 35,984 participants, during a yoga session held in Delhi in 2015. At that time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present during the yoga session.
There were other sessions that were organized as well and the total count for the day was well over 3 lakh people at the GMDC ground in Ahmedabad. Speaking about the development, baba Ramdev said, “Today is the most important day for me, as more than three lakh people performed yoga at one place to set a new world record. We have broken the previous world record, which was set in the presence of our PM, by a huge margin.”
