~Launches BKT clinics to educate farmers and improve productivity~
Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT), one of the leading off-highway and tractor tiremanufacturers in India, hits headlines again by celebrating KisanDiwas in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, the city originally known as ‘Vyagprastha’ or Land of Tigers.KisanDiwas is a national occasion observed on 23rd December every year. National Farmer’s Day is celebrated in honour of the former Prime Minister of India,Mr. Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Modern agriculture requires care, attention and the complete fulfilment of many different needs. BKT’s goal is making farmers’ work as comfortable and safe as possible, and constantly improving productivity. Hence, the company closely observes the main issues, focusing on how to give concrete and precise answers.
The company thus kicked off ‘BKT clinics’ in Mathura and Sadabad, near Agra with the objective to educate farmers in maintaining and operating their tractors to improve productivity, efficiency and crop yield in their day-to-day lives. The clinic will cover wide ranging topics, which impact the lives of farmers including soil preservation, bio-diversity, food safety and precision farming among others.
On the occasion of KisanDiwas, an event was held in Baghpat, which was attended by Mr. P. C. Jaiswal – Chief Development Officer – Baghpat district, Dr. Praveen Malikji – Director C.C.S. – National Institute of Animal Health, Dr. Gajendra Pal – Head -KrishiVigyan Center and Mr. Rajeev Kumar – Head (Agri sales) – Domestic business – BKT Tires.
The event was hosted by Dr.Amna Mirza, noted academician, author, columnist with various English and Hindi newspapers and social entrepreneur.
Mr Rajeev Kumar said,“I am glad we were able to support farmers with the launch of ‘BKT clinics’ and what better day to announce it than the KisanDiwas. It makes us immensely proud to be a part of this memorableoccasion. Through this initiative, we want to impart knowledge about the overall upkeep of thetractor,thereby helping farmers in improving their day-to-day productivity and cover other topics which will upskill them. This is merely a stepping point for us as we look to expand this initiative across the country next year.”
In order to maximize performance, BKT has also developed tire technology, which supports vehicles operating in cotton fields, carrying heavy loads at low pressure along with enhanced traction.
Last but not least, BKT is widely known for its focus on innovation and technology.It has recently doubled its production capacity through its latest production site in Bhuj.
