A 32-year-old HDFC bank manager killed his female friend by repeatedly smashing her head on a pavement in outer Delhi’s Mongolpuri area early this month, said police.
The bank manager identified as Naveen Kumar was arrested by the police on Monday, who accepted his crime during questioning.
Kumar revealed to the police that he killed the victim after she threatened of revealing their affair to his wife.
Police officer investigating the case said, “According to Kumar’s confession he took her in a long drive in pretext to solve the issue on March 3. The two got into a heated conversation following the brutal murder.”
Kumar told the police that the victim was his subordinate in the bank he was working with and the duo were having an affair. According to Kumar’s statement the victim was unaware of his marital status and he being father of a child.
Vikramjeet Singh, DCP, outer, said, “We learnt about the crime after eyewitnesses alerted the police by calling 101.”
The DCP added that two passerby who identified themselves as Siddharth Sharma and Surender Rana.
“A PCR team was rushed to the scene of crime but they did not find anyone as informed by the complainant. On calling back the complainant they told us that they were returning home from Patel Nagar when they saw an i10 parked on the side of the road and a saw a man who was holding a woman’s head and repeatedly smashing it on the pavement.”
They also informed us that Kumar had rushed the victim to the Jaipur Golden Hospital, added the DCP.
An investigating officer said that Kumar told the doctors that they met with an accident. The victim succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
