Vidya Balan walked out during ‘Ishqiya’ narration
Actress Vidya Balan was praised for her role in “Ishqiya”, but the actress had walked out when she was narrated the script, says filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.
During a panel discussion held by &Privé HD, Bhardwaj told the audience how Vidya left halfway through the narration of the film “Ishqiya”, read a statement
Bhardwaj had invited Vidya to hear the script, written by himself and Abhishek Chaubey.
“She came to my office, and I told her you should hear it from the director (Abhishek Chaubey) to get the confidence. She read the first half and then, I wasn’t there, she left saying there was some important work that had come up. I thought we had written such a bad script that she left and made up an excuse to leave,” Bhardwaj said.
Vidya had a work commitment to attend to and returned immediately after her commitment was over, an hour later.
The actress said: “I thought I was being honest and told him (Abhishek) that I had some place to go to and I’ll be back in an hour, and left. I then got a call from Vishal asking if I didn’t like the script and told him how I’ve only read the first half and like it thus far, and that I’m going back to read the rest of the script.”
