Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh committed a major faux pas when he used the Telugu word “Vardhanthi” while greeting the audience on the occasion of the Ambedkar Jayanti. The Telegu word “Vardhanthi” means death anniversary, implying that Lokesh did not even know that it was the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar and not his death anniversary. It may be recalled that Nara Lokesh is Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Information technology Minister, and such mistakes are not expected from him.
Lokesh is the only son of Chandrababu Naidu and he has done his graduation from Stanford Business School. Lokesh had committed a similar mistake during his swearing-in ceremony last month when he had said “Sradhanjali” instead of “Sradhasakthi”. It appears that due to his foreign education, Lokesh has lost touch with local languages. Lokesh’s latest faux pas on BR Ambedkar’s 126th birth anniversary has gone viral on social media. However, Telegu Desam Party (TDP) leaders described it as just a slip of tongue and said that such small issues should be ignored.
