While the SP-Congress alliance failed majorly in the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the AAP also suffered defeat in Punjab and Goa. Speaking on the developments in Punjab and Goa, AAP Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he has accepted people’s verdict. “जनता का फ़ैसला सर माथे पे।सभी कार्यकर्ताओं ने बहुत मेहनत की।संघर्ष जारी रहेगा।,” said Kejriwal in a Tweet. It may be recalled that Kejriwal had earlier claimed that his party will win more than 100 seats in Punjab, but in reality it has won only 22 seats. The party also suffered a major setback in Goa, as it has not been able to win even a single seat.
In UP, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav submitted his resignation to the governor and held a press conference in which he made some sarcastic remarks. He said that sometimes it’s not enough to make people understand; rather, what works is to mislead people. He was referring to BJP, which he thinks has misled the people of Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh also joked that may be the great Expressway was not enough for people, and may be they want bullet trains, which is why they have voted for BJP. On the SP-Congress alliance, Akhilesh said that the alliance will continue in the future as well. He also congratulated the BJP for its massive win and hoped that the new government will do better work than his own government.
