Everyone was expecting a breakthrough during today’s meeting between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, but the hopes have been dashed. The political stalemate continues in Bihar, as CM Nitish Kumar has refused to change his stand on the issue of corruption. The meeting went on for around 45 minutes, but nothing significant came out of it. Both the parties chose to remain silent after the meeting, which indicates that things are just as they were earlier. Tejaswi Yadav was to present his case before the CM, but it looks like it hasn’t worked out any good.
Nitish Kumar led JD(U) maintains that Tejaswi Yadav would have to come clean in all the cases filed against him. JD(U) party spokesperson Ajay Alok said, “The RJD would have to clear itself in public domain. Our stand has not changed.” The statement clearly indicates that the political crisis in Bihar is far from over. JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar also said that RJD should provide a public clarification. Political pundits said that RJD is in a weak spot and cannot drive a hard bargain. Also, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav will need JD(U)’s help to secure the political future of his sons.
