Despite the recent farmer protests in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is aiming big in the state Assembly elections that will be held in 2018. According to Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, the party will win over 200 seats in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. BJP has also started preparing for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and from Madhya Pradesh, it plans to win all the 29 Lok Sabha seats. Many top BJP leaders are currently in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal city to attend a 3-day meeting that will be chaired by BJP president Amit Shah. Tomar said that everyone is excited to host Shah in Bhopal and it would boost the morale of party workers. The BJP currently holds 165 seats in the 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly. In the Lok Sabha, it holds 26 of the 29 seats.
As Amit Shah visits Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, there are many speculations that a change may be witnessed in the leadership of the BJP state unit. Nandkumar Singh Chauhan would be completing his three-year term as the state BJP president, so there are speculations that a new leader may be appointed. There are many names doing the rounds, but it is also possible that Nandkumar Singh would be retained for another three years.
