The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena have been in the cat-fight in the Maharashtra in the Game of Thrones of politics in the state. The relationship between both the partners have been a one roller-coaster ride till now. Both the parties are supporting each-other in the assembly of Maharashtra, however they fought the recently held local body elections in the state separately.
After the bitter campaigning against each-other, Shiv Sena was able to elect his candidate as the Mayor of Mumbai after BJP refused to fight for the post. However Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis claimed that the decision was not under any pressure but for the people of the state and for to ensure stability of his government.
According to media reports a high level BJP leaders meeting held on Thursday in the presence of CM Fadnavis, Chandrakant Bacchu Patil and other BJP ministers.
The agenda of the meeting is believed to regarding getting rid of Shiv Sena from the coalition in the state government and options were considered related to the agenda. Three options were identified to tackle the rising voice of the Shiv Sena.
- Gather support of 30 NCP and Congress MLAs in case Shiv Sena creates problem during money bill.
- Get those MLAs to resign and contest from BJP ticket.
- Go for Assembly elections again if feasible.
The report also said that the BJP leaders were likely to talk to PM Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah soon over the issue.
