While people like Rahul Gandhi have been constantly accusing the BJP government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to deliver, the peoples’ verdict tells an altogether different story. This has been proven many times earlier also, as people have shown their faith in BJP and its leader Modi. And it has happened yet again after BJP won more than 50 percent of seats in the Maharashtra Gram Panchayat polls that were conducted recently. The total gram panchayat seats for the post of sarpanch were 3,489 and results have been declared for 2974 seats. Out of this, BJP has won a staggering 1457, whereas Congress has won 301, Shiv Sena 222 and NCP 194. This clearly shows that people living in rural areas are also supportive of BJP. This also shatters the accusations of “suit boot ki sarkar”.
PM Modi thanked the people of Maharashtra for showing faith in BJP. He congratulated Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP leader Raosaheb Danve for the party’s impressive performance in the gram panchayat polls. “Wonderful victory of @BJP4Maharashtra in rural areas shows the unwavering support of the farmers, youth & poor for BJP’s development agenda,” PM Modi said in a tweet. BJP’s victory serves as a wakeup call for opposition parties that have exploited every opportunity to malign the government. It tells them that mere shouting and making noises does not win votes and the trust of people.
