Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray ruled out any alliance with BJP for the upcoming BMC polls in Maharashtra. He said that Shiv Sena will not join hand with BJP this time in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls.
Uddhav also said that he is not even worried about BMC polls. He also said that he is sure that his party will win all the elections. While targeting BJP, he said that about 25 years of Shiv Sena wasted due to alliance.
Uddhav said that Shiv Sena has ‘mawlas’ (sainik) in its ranks, the BJP has gundas’. He claimed that BJP hired the gundas since it can not fight the sainiks. BJP leaders declined to comment on the issue.
Thackeray’s remarks came at the time when Maharashtra BJP leader Raosaheb Danve hoped for a positive atmosphere between both the BJP and Shiv Sena. He also said that BJP is waiting for a positive proposal from the Shiv Sena for seat-sharing in the upcoming BMC polls.
This move from Thackeray may virtually cut-down the ties between both the parties in Maharashtra. The BMC polls will happen on February 21, and results will be declared on the February 23.
