At least a dozen of people are feared trapped under debris of a multi-storey building that collapsed at IT hub, Nanakaramguda, in Hyderabad on Thursday night.
A senior police officials of Cyberabad who were part of the rescue team said that at least a dozen of construction workers who were engaged in the construction work of the building are feared trapped under the debris.
According to administrative officials the incident took place at G+6 storey building. The construction workers were engaged in painting and flooring work.
“Around 10pm, the building collapsed,” said M Ramana Kumar, Madhapur ACP.
The locals rushed to the rescue and alerted the emergency services.
“The building is owned by one Satyanarayan Singh. Neighbours said that families of construction workers and a watchman were staying in the building,” Madhapur DCP Vishwa Prasad said.
The rescue team is being coordinated by Cyberabad Commissioner of police Sandeep Shandilya who reached the spot and began coordinating the rescue operation with 60 members of the NDRF, Fire department and the GHMC officials.
