According to UN Forecast, India’s population is projected to touch 1.5 billion in 2030.
The 2017 Revision, published by the UN department of Economic and Social Affairs said that curt China with 1.41 billion inhabitants and India with 1.34 billion.
“In roughly seven years or in 2024, the population of India is expected to surpass that of China” the report said.
In 2015 it was projected that population of India will surpass that of China’s by 2022.
The new estimates released the year 2024.
After that , India’s population is projected to continue growing several decades to around 1.5 billion in 2030 and 1.66 billion in 2050.
While in China is projected to remain stable till 2030 after that it may decline slowly.
India’s population will decline slowly after 2050 but still it will be the most populous country in the world.
Current world population is 7.6 billion is expected to reach 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100 , the report said .
