14th November 2018, New Delhi: To honour the courageous efforts of Security Guard Sh Vishambhar Singh who died while protecting Rs 4.5 Crores cash of Brinks Cash Management from a robbery attempt, the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) has decided to confer CAPSI BRAVERY AWARD (Suraksha Shaurya Puraskar) posthumously. To foil the robbers’ bid to flee away with cash, Singh exhibited an excellent level of professional commitment, not even caring for his personal safety. The Award and a compensation amount of Rs 1.5 lakhs will be provided to the family members of the brave security guard at Security skills and leadership summit 2018, the 13th Annual conference of CAPSI & APDI on 15th November 2018 at PHD House, New Delhi.
50-year-old, Vishambhar Singh resisted the robbers and managed to raise an alarm thereby forcing them to flee away without the money. Unfortunately, Vishambhar paid with his life as he valiantly thwarted a group of armed robbers on DND flyway in Mayur Vihar. The victim was shot twice — in the head and leg and died during the treatment at the hospital.
While conferring the award, Kunwar Vikram Singh, Chairman of CAPSI said, “To ensure a better living for the family of the deceased, Brinks Cash Management Company have also come in their support and promised to award a compensation of at least Rs 10 lakhs. I would also like to urge the bank whose cash was being transported for ATM replenishment to compensate the family with at least Rs 50 lakhs.”
