Yet another horrible incident, there has been a car bomb outside a bank in Afghanistan.
A car bomb exploded outside a bank in Lashkar Gah, capital of the southern Afghan province of Helmand on Thursday, killing and wounding dozens of civilians and members of the security forces waiting to collect their pay, officials said.
As per the reports at least 30 people are killed and several injured.
Taliban has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack. In a statement the Taliban spokesman said, A suicide bomber driving an explosive-packed car targeted the New Kabul Bank branch in Lashkar Gah.
Helmand province has been the site of intense conflict between the Taliban and Afghan and NATO security forces. Thousands of civilians and soldiers have died in recent years.
Security is worsening across Afghanistan almost three years after international troops ended their main combat mission.
While high-profile attacks in the capital, Kabul, have made headlines, dozens of similar incidents in provincial centers over recent months have steadily undermined confidence in President Ashraf Ghani’s divided government.
The blast happened with just a week left for the holy festival of Ramzan.
