Cara Di Cicco-Sandre, Licensed Speech Language Pathologist, Owner/Founder of Allergy Release was selected as Top Holistic Healer of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the industry.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With almost two decades of professional experience working with children and adults, ranging from autism and apraxia to stroke and brain injury, Cara has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in many fields. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, Cara has demonstrated success not only as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, but in every role she has ever held. Her impressive repertoire of prior roles included; Assistant Adjunct Professor at St. John’s University in the Communication Sciences Department for 12 years, where she created and taught an array of graduate and undergraduate classes including Anatomy and Physiology, Language Development, Language Disorders, Acquired Language Disorders, Speech Science, and Phonetics, among many other courses. Cara has supervised numerous graduate students and speech interns and led the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for 8 years, where she taught and trained new speech language pathologist students objective swallow tests, such as the Modified Barium Swallow study and the Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing.
In Cara’s new business and healing venture as a NAET practitioner (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique), Cara uses a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to alleviate allergies of all types and intensities using a combination of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine. Cara is certified in NAET with specialties in autism and ADD/ADHD, radiation allergies, environmental allergies, and is on her way to be specialized in Anaphylaxis and Infertility. She is certified in Acupoint Physical Medicine by the International Association of Medical Acupuncture and is working to complete her certification in Applied Kinesiology by the International Kinesiology Training Institute.
Cara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from New York University and earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from St. John’s University. The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “Choosing Cara for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make. She is motivated, determined, talented and brilliant at what she does. She is just the whole package. We felt she would make an amazing asset to our organization and we have asked her to speak at our annual award galas 2 years in a row.
Throughout her career Cara has received awards, accolades and has been recognized for her outstanding leadership. For 2019 she is being considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and for the Empowered Woman of the Year Award by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). For 2018 she was selected as Top Holistic Healer of the Year by IAOTP and asked to be a keynote speaker at their annual award gala being held at the Plaza hotel in New York City.
Aside from her successful career, Cara is a nationally sought after lecturer and speaker. Cara is a Leadership Program Coordinator at Synergy Education Inc in New York City where she runs three month long leadership programs to groups of successful and motivated adults looking to strengthen their personal, professional, and leadership skills. Cara also is the co-creator of her Facebook page, “Healthy Choices, Healthy Babies,” where she continues to educate parents on healthy, natural lifestyles as well as advocating for Parental Choice and Parental Rights. She has coordinated numerous events for local parents to meetup and become educated on local issues and laws.
Looking back, Cara attributes her success to her disciplined focus, mentors she has had along the way, and staying passionate in all her endeavors. Cara says she has been blessed as she loves doing what she is doing and feels this is just the beginning. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and wants to continue to make a difference in people’s lives anyway that she can.
