It was a records galore yesterday with little bit of controversy as well. Caster Semenya has proved her mettle yet again by winning the 3rd Gold Medal in 800 metres. Earlier, she was trolled by British Media personality, Katie Hopkins who accused the sprinter mentioning that she has got higher levels of testosterone when compared to most of the other women through her tweets on Twitter but was face with more vigorous response defending the runner from her fans worldwide specifically from South Africa, the country she belongs too.
After the win, Semenya tweeted “You may not be able to control every situation and its outcome, but you can control your attitude and how you deal with it.” She has won a Bronze Medal in the 1500 metres finals as well in this edition.
On the other hand, Allyson Felix(featured in the above pic) has won her 16th World career medal which eventually saw her helping her country US to win the Gold medal in 4*400 Metres relay.
Felix ran an outstanding second lap, clocked at a startling 48.7 seconds, as the quartet, also comprising Quanera Hayes, Shakima Wimbley and newly-crowned 400m champion Phyllis Francis, timed 3.19.02. Britain came second with 3:25:00 and Poland third with 3:25:41
“It does mean so much to me every time,I love this sport. I’m grateful to run with these amazing girls. They work so hard and deserve all their success. It’s an honour to run in the relay for Team USA and I will always treasure these moments.” said Felix who is now well over Jamaican all time great Usain Bolt who was has got 14 medals so far.
