In a weird surgery, doctors of Ent department at Stanley Medical College and Hospital in Channai have removed a live cockroach from a woman’s nasal cavity.
Contrary to popular belief, the cockroach was no dead inside the nostrils when removed. The doctors claimed that the live cockroach was removed from the skull base near the brain of a woman during a surgery. The surgery was lasted for an hour and it utilized sucker pumps and clamps.
Selvi, a domestic help, realized during the midnight Tuesday that she might have some insect inside her nostril as she was experiencing itchy sensation and irritation in her nose.
When local doctors could not help, she was referred to Stanley Medical College and Hospital. The doctors found a live cockroach and removed that by surgery.
