China has blocked another proposal to ban the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) leader Masood Azhar and put United Nation’s (UN) terrorist sanctions against him.
The proposal was moved by the US, supported by the UK and France but China blocked it again at the UN security council meeting. The tainted JeM leader Masood is an accused in the Pathankot Air base attacks.
Indian external affairs minister Vikas Swarup said that the issue has been consulted with his Chinese counterparts.
He also said that there have been Chinese block on the move multiple times using technical holds and formal blocks.
On January 19 again, the last day of Obama administration, the US moved a proposal to ban Masood but China continued with its Veto.
India has been pursuing China to get Masood Azhar blocked and declare as a terrorist at UN security council but has failed every time.
India has accused China of pursuing double standard and favoring Pakistan as 14 out of the 15 UNSC members has supported a a ban on Azhar.
