As China faces growing resistance from the United States and other countries, as it makes efforts to establish its global supremacy, the country today showcased its vast military assets on the occasion of the 90th founding anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). China organized a massive military parade today to mark the occasion and showcased some of the top weapons in its arsenal. Sources said that the military might of China can easily demotivate any country to wage a war against the country. The advantageous thing about China’s military might is that it has the world’s largest army comprising more than 2 million active soldiers. Another thing is that most of its military hardware is indigenously produced, which implies that it will not have to depend on imports in case a full-fledged war breaks out. In comparison, India depends heavily on imports for its military hardware, something that may pose a challenge in case of a war.
One of the key weapons displayed today by China was the Dongfeng-26 ballistic missile that can be armed with nuclear warheads and launched at short notice. The Dongfeng-21D was also showcased, which has been described as a “carrier killer”, as it can destroy ships. The Dongfeng-16G conventional missile has the capability to destroy key enemy targets. Two types of solid-fuel inter- continental strategic nuclear missiles were also displayed during the parade. All the missiles are managed by a dedicated army division called Rocket Force, which was established in 2015 to strengthen China’s military supremacy. The J-20 stealth fighters were also displayed during the parade.
