Soon everyone will be able to know the truth about the death of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The Central Information Commission (CIC) has asked the National Archives of India (NAI) post the details of its website.
The CIC has asked the NAI to provide the index of records related to the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi as well as post a standard procedure to gain access to these.
The significant order came after an appellant asked for help from CIC related to two major documents (1) final charge sheet issued by the Delhi Police and (2) order of execution of Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
The CIC also claimed that this revelation will minimize the Right To Information (RTI) related queries as well as increase the focus on voluntary disclosures.
