Cinépolis crosses the 200-screen landmark with launch of its 3rdmultiplex in Bengaluru

Located in ETA Namma Mall, the theatre offers 8 screens with 3 RealD 3D-enabled screens, digital sound and thelargest legroom in the country

Bangalore, 2nd June 2015:Cinépolis, the world’s 4th largest and India’s 1st international exhibitor, announces the launch of its third state-of-the-art cineplex in Bengaluru’s ETA Namma Mall. With the unveiling of this theatre onJune 2, 2015, the Mexican multiplex operator crosses the 200-screen landmark in India.

With complete digital projection, the multiplex will offer users a visually-stunning experience that is a hallmark of the Cinépolis brand. Equipped with 3 RealD 3D screens, digital sound and the largest legroom, the exhibitor continues to wow the spectator in India!

Speaking on the launch Mr. Javier Sotomayor, Managing Director, Cinépolis India said, “We are committed to expanding in Bengaluru, one of the fastest growing metros of the country. Apart from the operational properties, we have more than 20 screens planned to go live in the city over the next two years. Cinépolis had recentlyacquired 100 per cent of the share equity capital in Mumbai-based Fun Cinemas (E-City Ventures), a subsidiary of Essel Group. With thepurchase, Cinépolis’ screen count in India rose to 193, across 41 multiplexes and 31 cities. After the launch in Bengaluru’s ETA Namma Mall the total number of screens has hit 201.
