New Delhi, 05 November 2014: Hockey India today announced Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) , a subsidiary of Coal India Limited as their new Principal Partner for the upcoming Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014 which is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar (Odisha) from 6 –14 December 2014.
Being one of the most supportive organisations towards hockey as a sport, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) one of the largest subsidiaries of Coal India Limited has been associated with the Hero Hockey India League as the co-owner for the Kalinga Lancers’ team. MCL now takes a leap ahead will be seen as the Principal Partner of the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014.
Speaking on the announcement, Hockey India CEO, Ms Elena Norman said, “Sports friendly organisations such as CIL/MCL, are those integral well-wishers and supporters of the game who along with us want to see hockey growing in all parts of the World. I am thankful to CIL/MCL for extending their support and would like to congratulate them on becoming the Principal Partner for the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014.”

Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014 will see eight teams fighting it out to emerge as the Champions, India is placed is Pool B along with Netherlands, Germany and Argentina while defending champions Australia are placed in Pool A with England, Belgium and Pakistan.
