Congress leader and MP from Guna Jyotiraditya Scindia was arrested today by MP police after he defied the prohibitory orders in Ratlam. Along with Scindia, Jhabua-Ratlam MP Kantilal Bhuria was also arrested for the same reason. Scindia wanted to meet the families of farmers who died in police firing in Mandsaur protests. However, he was denied permission to the same. Reacting to that, Scindia organized a sit-in at the toll plaza in Ratlam district, due to which he was arrested. Both the Congress leaders were taken in a Vajra vehicle to Jaora town, where they were formally arrested by the police.
Scindia targeted Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said that his recent indefinite fast was just a big drama. “Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said he would not end his fast till peace was restored in Madhya Pradesh. If he ended his fast on peace restored in the state then why prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC,” Scindia said. Scindia also accused the administration of using strong arm tactics to prevent people from travelling from one place to another.
Meanwhile, another farmer is reported to have died in Mandsaur, after he committed suicide by hanging himself.
