In a great act of bravery, a policeman in Madhya Pradesh ran for nearly a kilometer carrying a 10 kg bomb and eventually kept it at a desolate place. In doing so, the cop was able to save the lives of several people including children. The bomb was found in the backyard of a local school, which is located in a small village in Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred at a government school in village Chitora, which is around 170 km from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The bomb could have caused many deaths if it had exploded since the school is attended by nearly 400 children. The police got the information about the bomb when they received a call via the emergency number 100.
As soon as the police received the information, a team arrived led by head constable Abhishek Patel. However, there was no bomb-disposal expert in the team, so Patel decided that he himself would have to carry the bomb to a safe place. The bomb was around 12 inches and it weighed around 10 kg. Patel picked up the bomb and ran with it for almost a kilometer to finally deposit it in a place where there was no habitation. Police are currently investigating how the bomb ended up in the backyard of the school. Initial reports indicate that the bomb may have come from an army range that is located close to the village.
