It gives me immense pride to inform that the Kohinoor Business School (KBS) management students of PGDM 2018-20 batch formally launched “Dayitva – An obligation for Societal Development by Kohinoor Business School” on 28th November’2018.
“Dayitva” – An obligation for societal development, an idea envisaged by our Chairman Karve sir. “Dayitva” aims to create students who own up social responsibility, understand the problems faced by society at the grass root level and try to give an optimum solution. The current PGDM batch has Social responsibility as a seven credit course which commences in third module and will continue till sixth module. The basic purpose of the Social projects under “Dayitva” is to help studentsUnderstand, Analyse, Map, Bridge, Integrate and Implement solutions for social issues within our catchment area.
The students have worked religiously and have made contacts with Municipal schools, NGOs and will be collaborating with them to work on social projects. KBS students of PGDM 18-20 batch visited “Bazaar ward Municipal School” at Bail Bazaar, Kurla and had sessions on awareness for Sanitation, Hygiene and Career Guidance. The female students of PGDM batch interacted with the female students of VIII standard and had discussion on female hygiene during periods. At the end of the session, free Sanitary pads were distributed the female students of “Bazaar ward”. The team of PGDM has arranged for 1200 sanitary pads and will be also distributing in other schools also. The students, teachers and the Principal of the school were happy with the engagement done by KBS students with them.
