It seems that the bottleneck and Red-Tape philosophy of dealing by Indian authorities have changed with regards to the recent deals by the Defense Ministry of India.
India has taken multiple steps to modernise its armed forces as a flurry of emergency deals for ammunition have been signed in last two-three months. The deals are worth around Rs 20,000 crore and to ensure battle readiness at short notice.
It is believed that Defence ministry has aimed for at least 10 days of “intense fighting” without worrying about ammunition, spares and other reserves in any future battle.
The increased speed in signing contracts and concluding defence deals with different countries such as Russia, Israel and France was a sign of proactive approach and strong mindset of Army modernization.
The Indian government had institutionalize the Empowered Procurement Committees to manage the deficiencies in stockpiles of arms at the earliest
