After getting the approval from Delhi L-G Anil Baijal, the Arvind Kejriwal government has pulled its socks to commission 450 mohalla clinics now.
According to senior government official, the project has now taken a quick pace to identify land in the national Capital.
It has also been decided that 250 mohalla clinics will also be commissioned in government schools.
The target of the government is to start 1,000 mohalla clinincs.
Through low cost mohalla clinics, government planned to offer robust healthcare treatment to the residents. As of now, nearly 162 mohalla clinics are functioning.
But due to a lack of suitable land for the medical clinics, the project was delayed.
Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain said, “Government is following the suggestions given by the L-G, we are following such appointment of MBBS doctors at mohalla clinincs and central procurement Agency should supply medicines to all government hospitals, mohalla clinincs and dispensers. Our project of mohalla clinics is in progress after the approval of L-G.”
“Once 1,000 mohalla clinics would be started, people would be able to get the healthcare services near to their houses,” said Jain.
