AAP party before coming into power made many promises, among them one was free Wifi in the capital. But so far there is not free Wifi is available to access for Delhi people. Now AAP government has set a goal to launch free Wi-Fi in March 2018.
As per the Information Technology Department, some 1,000 hotspots will be developed in the capital. In the first phase, Rs 25 Crore has been planned for free Wi-Fi project. By December 2017 tender will be given for this project, said by an official.
In recent past, Arvind Kejriwal told that government is working on various models to provide free Wi-Fi facility in Delhi.
Before this announcement, AAP government had declared that by December 2016 in 500 locations free Wi-Fi will be accessible however, it did not turn.
