Delhi hospital fined Rs.30 lakh for leaving needle in womb

Rubina, while delivering her third baby , the hospital staff of Jeewan hospital left a needle in her uterus as a result she went through painful nights in the hospital.

Alleging negligence and deficiency in service she moved the consumer court where she was awarded compensation and fined the hospital Rs.30 lakhs.

Rubina says ” I cannot stand for long in the kitchen nor climb the stairs. Every month spending Rs.4000 for my uterus treatment. The infection has been consistent for 9 years. Iam facing multiple problems because of this. The hospital is taking my husband run from pillar to post for the compensation and is even harassing us. ”

“I was operated by an unqualified staff ” she added.

” I will make my eldest daughter a lawyer so that she can stand for common people like us ” said Rubina.

” I have two daughters and a son. Monthly doses of medicines is making me weak. If something happens to me who would be responsible ” she added.

Dr. Vijay Sabharwal Chairman of Shree Jeewan hospital said ” The incident is not a medical negligence and it was timely taken out from her body “.
