Passengers travelling in Delhi Metro’s yellow line on Monday panicked after a door of the train did not close from one station to another.
The incident took place at around 10 pm and the Metro ran with a door open from Chawri Bazar to Kashmiri Gate station.
Luckily no one was injured in the incident.
“The problem was only with one door. It was guarded by the DMRC staff. The train was taken to Vishwavidyalaya station to avoid any delay or bunching,” a metro spokesman said.
Similar incident happened in July 2014, when a train had run with all its doors open between Ghitorni and Arjangarh stations on the same line.
The train operator was suspended over “safety lapse” immediately after the incident.
