Newspatrolling: India’s national capital Delhi has been put on high alert after intelligence reports indicated that a group of 6-7 terrorists have entered the city and are planning to carry out terror attack. The intelligence inputs were provided by the Intelligence Bureau (IB). It may be recalled that security was already tightened today since Yoga Day was organized on a massive scale in Delhi and the rest of the country as well. Appropriate security arrangements were made at various places in the city and vehicular restrictions were also imposed at certain locations such as Connaught Place Inner Circle. Security as Rajiv Chowk metro station was also beefed up.
It may be recalled that earlier in May also, the national capital was put on high alert on reports of more than 20 terrorists entering the country. This new security input of 6-7 terrorists entering Delhi is a new development, which is why security has been increased at all important locations in Delhi. Railway stations, metro stations, airport, malls, religious places, are all being monitored closely by security forces. NSG (National Security Guard) commandos have also been positioned at vulnerable spots to tackle any militant activity.
