Crime Branch of Delhi Police claims to solved the kidnapping case of a former councillor’s teenager son in which his abductors had demanded Rs50 crore for the abducts release after arresting four people on Sunday.
Ravindra Yadav, Joint commissioner (crime) said, “The kidnapped was outcome of personal grudges between the conspirators and the victim’s father.”
Two of the main accused, Mahesh and Manjeet are property dealers and small-time party workers. To carry out the abduction the duo hired professional criminals.
The arrested have been identified as Vikrant Shokeen, Vinod Kumar, Vichitra Vir and Anand. Vinod is also accused in a gang-rape case lodged at Najafgarh police station.
“Raids are being conducted in different locations to nab all the criminals and recover the ransom money,” said the joint commissioner.
The police have recovered the victim’s BMW, a SUV and hatch-back used in the crime, a motorcycle, sedative pills from the possession from the arrested criminals.
The teenager was abducted by the criminals while he was on his way to college. The abductors posing as policemen intercepted the victim’s BMW car and on pretext of breaking traffic rules the abductors asked him to accompany him to police station to issue a challan.
